In Between

Here's a work in progress I wrote the other day at my studio (the ONLY thing I've managed to write there so far). Any feedback would be awesome!

"In Between"


I
sit on pine swing
rough bow bending to
pine needle ground
dusty

In between hills
and tumbleweed and
tree fort next to
cow piss river
coyote tracks
and jumping cacti
clinging to pant leg

he
places his hands
on my knees
bare and scuffed
from climbing
he pushes
slides hands up thighs
grips ankles

releases

I pump my legs
quivering
branch and tree
and stomach
